His work was highly appreciated by collectors in New York and Europe where he received many awards. His work usually held a strong religious theme, thus making non-religious art a rare find. Additionally, he never worked from sketches or photographs. He created directly on an unmarked surface, painting spontaneously so that “the completed work can be as much a surprise to me as to the buyer.” Fridtjof’s works are in museum collections throughout the United States and Europe.
